ESCHERICHIA COLI
(E-COLI)

When they returned home from their trip to Mexico, Grayson, who was just 2.5 years old, started to experience severe vomiting and diarrhea because he had contracted E-coli.

E-coli bacteria normally live in the intestines of healthy people and animals. Most varieties of E. coli are harmless or cause relatively brief diarrhea. But a few particularly strong strains can cause severe abdominal cramping, bloody diarrhea and vomiting.
